The Person Behind The (small) Business;

Hello, I’m Nyassa, the illustrator, designer and maker behind Nyassa Hinde Illustration. I love bright colours, the sea, and drinking copious amounts of coffee, and I really love dogs.

I’ve been working on my small biz since I 2017, when I was just a baby illustrator at uni, and as I’ve grown up, my work has grown up too, moving from a shoe box, to a cupboard, to a whole entire room in my little house. Now my little studio (aka. The Second Bedroom) is where I spend all my time, designing cards, paper-goods and accessories that make each day a little bit lovelier.

All of the goodies you find here in my shop are made from my original illustrations inspired nature and my colourful coastal home in Cornwall. Whether it’s designing the perfect gift that you can’t wait to give, or planner that brings a bit of brightness to your desk, I love to know that I’m bringing a little bit of joy with every new creation!

Pretty, Practical and Planet Friendly!

I gather so much inspiration from the world around me, and the  beautiful county of Cornwall where I live, so of course it’s incredibly important to me to take care of our planet and design gifts and goodies that are eco-friendly. .

I’m proud to say that everything you find here in my shop is designed with careful consideration of its impact on the environment.

Everything is made in small batches, working with trusted suppliers to ensure high quality products with less waste. I always try and source new products and packaging that are sustainably-sourced or recycled, and all my paper products are FSC certified.

Cornwall Based Small Business Owner & Illustrator

I first moved to Cornwall in 2015 to start my degree in illustration, and I fell in love with life by the sea. I feel very lucky to be living in a town that values shopping locally and champions it’s gorgeous independent shops. Over the past few years I’ve loved meeting makers and local artists, and finally building up the courage to start selling at markets has been so valuable in finding my place in Cornwall’s Creative Community (and so much fun because I’ve been able to meet so many of you!!)

When I’m not doodling or designing, or hanging out at in-person-events you can normally find me stomping along the rainy Cornish coast with my pup Rufus, wearing the brightest pair of dungarees in the South West.

Want to get to know the gal behind the business a bit better? When I’m not tucked away in my studio you can find me sharing snippets of my life, and a behind the scenes look at my creative process on Instagram.
